French Belle Epoque 18ct Gold, Sapphire, Demantoid Garnet & Diamond Pendant

398P
40 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

This is such a pretty pendant. It is French and was made circa 1910 in the Belle Epoque period as it was known. In the centre is a natural Ceylon sapphire that weighs over three carats. Around it is an oval ring of demantoid garnets otherwise known as green garnets. These stones had just been discovered in the Urals in Russia and not only were they expensive but they were sought after to set in various jewels. They are a beautiful apple green colour. Around the green garnets is a further oval ring of graded very white diamonds. A diamond set bale joins all three elements together. The combination of colours is stunning. It comes in a fitted Moroccan leather case.
