Edwardian 15ct Gold & Platinum Brooch of a Fox Head, Horseshoe & a Hunting Horn set with Diamonds & Ruby Eyes

359U
Written by Olly Gerrish

A finely detailed brooch that was made circa 1900-1910.  It is composed of a fox head with a horseshoe around it mounted on to a hunting horn. It has been set with a mixture of old mine cut and rose diamonds and the fox has tiny ruby eyes.  It is 15ct gold with platinum mounts on either end of the horn. These brooches would have been worn on a stock or lapel while out hunting. Nowadays they have found new popularity with city dwellers on jackets and dresses
