They have been set with well matched flat cut almandineA variety of red garnet that is transparent and commonly deep crimson with tinges of purple. Its colour can resemble that of ruby. It is cut in several forms; when cut en cabochon (usually as hollow cabochon to lighten the colour), it is called carbuncle. More garnets that have been foiled to the reverse to give extra luminescence. There is lovely unusual leaf and branch detail in between the flowers. They have hinge back fittings that go through the ear from behind.
