Art Deco Platinum & Iridium Snake Ring set with Diamonds

Written by Olly Gerrish

A charming take on a snake ring Art Deco style!  This ring was made circa 1930-1940 in America. It is platinum and iridium, a sturdy mix of metals that the American jewellers often used in jewellery. The head of the snake is a claw set pear shaped diamond and the body has been set with graduated baguette cut diamonds.

Snake rings were very popular in the GeorgianVictorian and Edwardian and Art Deco periods as they represented “Eternal love and wisdom”. This example is beautifully made and is top quality of its type.
