Edwardian 18ct White Gold & Platinum, Black Opal & Diamond Cluster Ring

Written by Olly Gerrish

A beautiful black opal and diamond ring that was made circa 1910-1920. The lively black opal displays vivid flashes of red, blue and green. It is set in a platinum mount on an 18ct white gold shank. Around the opal are fourteen well matched bright white diamonds with a further two smaller diamonds set in to the shoulders. Black opal rings are very sought after especially from the Edwardian and Art Deco periods.

It sits low on the finger so it would be a practical ring to wear as a dress ring
