A beautiful Georgian necklace that was made circa 1820. It is 9ct gold and has been set with flat cut garnets. They are cut so thin and are foiled to the reverse so that the special red purplish hues are shown to their best advantage. The motif is a pansy in the centre with delicate looking leaves in a continuous line to a hidden tongue clasp. The pansy represented “Think of me” a pun on the French expression “Pense a moi”.
