A smart 18ct white gold brooch that was retailed by Asprey in the 1920’s. Asprey was a high end retail jeweller based at 166 Bond Street London. It is a narrow rectangular shape and has been set with two round cabochon cut onyx and two round cabochon cut corals within square settings with a diamond at each corner. In between are diamonds in square settings with millgrain detail. The combination of onyx ,coral and diamonds was typical for the Art Deco era as it was the Jazz age and contrasting stones were cutting edge. It is presented in the original Asprey tooled brown leather Moroccan case.
It is as wearable on a lapel now as it was over a hundred years ago and will certainly attract attention!
