Lapponia was founded in the 1960s by two men, entrepreneur and visionary Pekka Anttila and gifted jewellery designer artist Björn Weckström. Together these men pushed the boundaries of jewellery design in the 1960s gaining global attention. This necklace a good example of Björn Weckström’s work. Weckström’s aim is to portray the Finnish landscape, hence the unique textured finish found on his jewellery that is reminiscent of the craggy rocks and cool icy fjords. It is like wearing a piece of sculpture around your neck. It has a secure hidden tongue clasp and a hook for added security.
These pieces are already collectors items.
