The cameo is very finely carved and features a classical muse with flowers in her hair. The heavy gauge 15ct62.5% pure gold (or 625 parts pure gold and 375 parts other metals). Popular during the Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco eras but was discontinued in the mid-1930s. More gold mount compliments the cameo and is composed of knotted and engraved sections. The cameo would have been carved in Italy and the mount is most likely English work. It has a secure sprung catch and a maker’s markInitials or trademark stamped or engraved on a piece. More W & B.
