Victorian 18ct Gold Tie Pin of Two Greyhounds

994N
40 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A charming and unusual 18ct gold tie pin of two greyhounds. They are finely modelled and chased and have collars on with a lead that joins them together. They would have been going hare coursing. Hare coursing is a bloodsport where dogs are used to chase, catch and kill hares. It is now illegal in the UK under the Hunting Act 2004, which makes it an offence to hunt wild mammals with dogs. This tie pin was made circa 1860-1880. All our tie pins come with a stopper at the end of the pin
