Victorian 18ct Gold Ruby & Diamond Five Stone Ring

125Z

Written by Olly Gerrish

A good looking 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1880-1900. It has been claw set with three well matched rubies that are a lovely deep pinky red colour.  In between are two old mine cut diamonds.  There are further small rose diamond points, as they are called, above and below the main stones. This was a Victorian invention that continued in to the twentieth century and serves to give the ring a good line on both sides. The shank has  attractive scroll decoration on either side with the rose diamond set claws worked in to the design.

A lovely engagement ring or Ruby wedding anniversary ring.
