Victorian 18ct Gold, Blue Enamel & Natural Split Pearl Locket

916X
Written by Olly Gerrish

The Victorians were very innovative in their designs and they have survived the test of time. This 18ct gold pendant was made circa 1860-1880 and has been enamelled in curved stripes of Royal blue enamel with natural split pearls in between and engraved motifs on the gold. The reverse is a glazed section that would originally have held a lock of hair.

It is as wearable now as it was over a hundred and fifty years ago.
