A beautiful 18ct gold ring that was made in London in 1852.  It is composed of a black enamelled heart in the centre set with five rose diamonds with a smaller rose diamond in the centre. On either side are stylised black enamelled leaves. The reverse has a glazed locket section that contains woven hair.  Engraved inside the shank is “Eliz h (Elizabeth) Crofse Obt (died) Nov 3rd 1852 Aet (aged)71”  A light and delicate looking ring that can be worn with care.
