Suffragette 15ct Gold Bracelet set with Rubies, Green Garnets, Natural Pearls & Diamonds

554Y
Written by Olly Gerrish

An rare and very pretty 15ct gold bracelet that was made circa 1910.   It has been set with gemstones that sent a message to other women that the wearer was a supporter of the Suffrage movement. The meanings of the stones and pearls are, Green. garnet (Demantoid)  (Green colour meaning “give”and symbolising Hope), Diamonds and pearls ( White colour meaning “women”and symbolising Purity), and Rubies (Violet colour meaning “votes” and symbolising Dignity). More often than not amethysts were used instead of rubies, but we have come across other jewels where rubies were used instead, such as in this bracelet.

It has a secure hidden tongue clasp and a safety chain for added security.
