A fabulous brooch that was made circa 1830. It is in the form of a flower and has been set with well matched graduated old mine cut diamonds in silver settings with the largest diamond on a raised level in the centre. Brooches such as this one would have been worn in the centre of a tiara, or as a brooch or a pendant as it has a hinged fitting. The brooch fitting also unscrews. Old mine cut diamonds have a special look, a hard and bright glitter that is like no other diamond cut.
