He made exquisite pieces of jewellery and seemed to be especially fond of creating owl pieces. This 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) More gold owl’s head was made circa 1880. It is finely executed with attention to the engraved detail and the setting of the rose diamonds around the tiger’s eyeA gem variety of the quartz family. Tiger's Eye contains iron which produces its golden brown yellow colour. More eyes and further rose diamonds on the brow. It is illustrated in Henri Vever’s book “French jewellery of the 19th Century” Page 1014.
