Edwardian 9ct Gold & Opal Bracelet with 9ct Gold Padlock

250U
Written by Olly Gerrish

This is a classic 9ct gold bracelet that was made in Birmingham in 1907 by Deakin & Frances. Founded in 1786, the company was originally known as Deakin and Moore from 1848–1879. Charles Deakin retired in 1881 and John Francis joined the firm. The company then became known as Deakin & Francis, becoming a limited company in 1902. It is a lovely unusual design and has been set with five opals within diamond shaped frames with triple links in between. Deakin & Frances are famous for high quality jewellery and this bracelet is no exception. It has a padlock clasp and an added safety chain for extra security.
