It has been set with an oval shaped aquamarineAquamarine (from the Latin, “water from the sea”) is a blue variety of the mineral, beryl, of which emerald is the less durable but more prized green variety. Aquamarine was believed to protect sailors at sea and banish fear. More with a small round aquamarine above. We also have some 15ct gold and aquamarine earrings that match this necklace. They were made circa 1910-1920.
