Early Victorian 18ct Gold Ring set with Seven Cabochon Cut Turquoise

549Y

Written by Olly Gerrish

A beautiful and unusual 18ct gold ring that was made circa 18300-1850. It has been pie crust claw set with not five but seven oval cabochon cut well matched Persian turquoise in a graduated design. The shoulders are a pierced motif that add lightness to the ring.

Turquoise is traditionally known as a stone of protection. It also symbolises the forget me not flower so it sends a secret message to remember who gave it to you, so what a wonderful ring to wear.
