Early 20th Century 14ct Gold, Rose Diamond & Cabochon Amethyst Acorn Pendant

268Y
Written by Olly Gerrish

A sweet 14ct gold pendant that was most likely made in Austria circa 1910-1920.  This pendant is an acorn carved from an amethyst. It has a rose diamond set top and further rose diamonds in the articulated mount and diamond shaped top.

The acorn is a symbol of fertility and immortality, probably because they are the seeds of the “mighty oak” so this pendant may originally have been a wedding gift.
