Art Deco 18ct Gold & Platinum, Large Cabochon Opal & Diamond Ring

252Z

Written by Olly Gerrish

A very pretty 18ct gold and platinum ring that was made circa 1920. It has been rub over and millgrain set with a large colourful oval cabochon cut opal that displays vivid green, red and blue flashes. It has an approximate weight of just a fraction under two and three quarter carats. On either side is a rub over set old mine cut diamond that serves to highlight the opal.

This ring looks utterly beautiful when worn.

The Details
Ollys Pick

It is always hard to show the real colour of opals but suffice to say this large opal is a lively stone with plenty of red flashes within it.
