A beautiful 15ct gold oval locket that was made circa 1880. It has been engraved on both sides. The front features a lily of the valley sprig, a symbol of purity, joy, love, sincerity, happiness and luck. Lily of the valley is also the national flower of France, and on the 1st of May for La Fête du Muguet, it is given to loved ones. The reverse has been engraved with scroll and intertwined motifs with a cartouche that could be engraved if wanted. It opens to reveal two compartments for photographs.
It can either be worn on a ribbon or a medium length gold chain.
