An unusual Georgian pendant that was made circa 1820. It is three colour red, yellow and green gold and is composed of leaves and flowers with gold wire detail and on the bale. In the centre is a glass locket that hinges open to the reverse. It has a gold crown positioned in the middle suggesting that this locket was made as a memorial for a Marquess. The use of turquoise traditionally means “Forget me Not” after the flower of the same name.
A historical piece of jewellery that should be worn with care.
