Rare Find
A very unusual Georgian ring that was made circa 1820. It is two colour gold, The band, the shoulders and the top are 15ct yellow gold and there are red gold cut down settings around the six old mine cut diamonds. In the centre is a rub over set oval cabochon cut turquoise. On the reverse is a locket that hinges open and would most likely have held a lock of hair. The shoulders are a a lovely foliate design. This ring would almost certainly have been given as a token of affection as the use of the turquoise means “Forget me Not” after the turquoise blue flower of the same name.
