Rare Find
A pretty and absolutely original 15ct gold ‘Regard’ locket which was made circa 1830 when secret tokens of affection were very fashionable. It is highly ornate with floral repousse work on both sides. It has been set with gemstones. The first letters of the gem stones spell ‘Regard’ (Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby, Diamond). It has also been set with turquoise within three leaf clover motifs. Turquoise means “Forget me not” after the flower of the same name, and clovers are lucky symbols.
A beautiful and unusual locket to wear.
