This 18ct white gold pendant is ideal for opal lovers. It is heart shaped with a beautiful heart shaped opal in the centre with a frame of diamonds around it and a diamond set bale. The 18ct white gold chain is interspersed with eight opals. It was made circa 1910-1920 and is typical of the Romantic Edwardian era. Opals were in high fashion as they were being imported from Australia and were quite different to the Hungarian opals that had been used in Victorian jewellery, hence the high colour of the heart shaped opal that displays vivid flashes of green, blue and red. It contrasts beautifully with the diamond border and looks so fantastic when worn.
