A charming 18ct gold double heart ring that was made circa 1860. The two hearts are overlapping and each heart is set with either a pear shaped ruby or a pear shaped diamond surrounded by rose diamonds and rubies with a stylised ribbon bow above.
Historically double hearts symbolised betrothal and enduring commitment and in this example the meaning is further underlined by the use of rubies for “Love” and diamonds for “Eternity”.
