Rare Find
An extraordinary whimsical 18ct gold bangle that was made in France circa 1860-1880. It is composed of three 18ct gold bands with a silver lizard mounted on top. The silver lizard’s body has been set with old mine cut diamonds and he has cabochon ruby eyes. The French had an ingenious way of opening bangles, namely instead of one hinge they made two so it is comfortable to put on. It also has a safety chain for added security.
Lizards are powerful symbols of regeneration, adaptability, and instinct. They can shed their tails to escape danger and grow them back later Because they often represent the ability to survive adversity and let go of the past to make room for new growth.
A wonderful meaning and perhaps appropriate for a new relationship.
