A strikingly beautiful round locket that was most likely made in Germany or Austria circa 1910-1920. It has been set with a sapphire in the centre with four small diamonds around it. It has an ornate anthemion and laurel leaf motif around the edge. The Laurel is a sign of strength. It is not only a symbol of honour and endurance, but also of peace, nobility and harmony. The reverse has a stylised monogram JRP. It opens to reveal two compartments for photographs
