Rare Find
A beautifully modelled brooch of an owl that was made circa 1970-1980. His tummy has been set with a well chosen large baroque pearl and his eyes are cabochon sapphires surrounded by diamonds. His body has engraved feathers. Large Baroque Pearls are organic gems celebrated for their asymmetrical, irregular, and non-spherical shapes. Unlike traditional round pearls, no two large baroque pearls are identical, making them highly prized in modern jewellery design for their unique, sculptural character. Their uneven surfaces interact dynamically with light, often yielding an exceptional, multi-coloured metallic iridescence known as “orient”.
The owl with it’s ability to see in the dark, is a strong symbol of wisdom, knowledge, insight, and learning.
