Free UAE ShippingA girandole pendant is so called because it features a central cluster motif from which three dangling, pear-shaped sections are suspended. The design was inspired by 18th century candelabras. This example has been set with rose diamonds and foiled rock crystal in silver settings and foiled emeralds in gold settings. The girandole style was highly fashionable among aristocratic women across Europe during the Baroque and Rococo periods (roughly 1720s-1780s), so production was widespread. The materials (silver settings for diamonds, gold for backings/other stones) and design were typical of the era in many regions.
This example was most likely made in France circa 1760.
A historical piece of jewellery to wear with care.
