May’s Birthstone: Emerald

All blossom, Maypole dancing and warmth, May in England is full of optimistic joy. Sandals are cautiously dusted off. Windows flung open. The countryside comes alive – bright greens above our heads and a rainbow of colours at our feet.

So it’s only fitting that the birthstone for May is one of our most vivid natural gemstones. The emerald’s vibrant green hue is perfectly in tune with late Spring. An apt celebration for the earliest wave of summer babies.
