A great looking ring that was made in France in the 1970s by Mathon Paris. It has been pave set with well matched brilliant cut diamonds in a wonderful wave design that continues around the shank. It has a wonderful movement about it and looks amazing when worn. Inspiration for the brand’s exquisite creations comes from many sources, with Nature being one of the most important.
Founded in 1931, founder Roger Mathon had huge talent and saw inspiration as fundamental to his work and this commitment carries on today with the successive generations, Frédéric, his daughter Aude, and Pascal Mathon, who combines creative computer design with traditional techniques. Perhaps this is why the Paris brand is one of the rare jewellers today to maintain a full design studio and pieces have been made for Van Cleet & Arpels.
This ring is a wonderful example of their work.
