Rare Find
An exceptional platinum ring that has been set with a large natural jade cut en cabochon. It is surrounded by two carats of claw set well matched good white diamonds. Jade is an extremely hard stone and has long been prized in China since Neo-lithic times. Although deep and bright green jadeite is better known in Europe, for most of China’s history, jade has come in a variety of colours and white “mutton-fat” nephrite was the most highly sought after. Jade was prized for its hardness, durability, magical qualities, and beauty. In particular, its subtle, translucent colours and protective qualities caused it to become associated with Chinese conceptions of the soul and immortality.
This ring is in excellent condition and when worn it is a real show stopper!
