We don’t often buy watches but we liked this example as the diamonds continue around the strap in a link design. The watch itself is surrounded by diamonds with three baguette diamonds on either side that join on to the strap. It has a total approximate weight of four and a half carats. It is iridium and platinum. Iridium has been used as it is the most corrosion resistant material. It is also one of the rarest elements.
It was made by Armand Nicolet in Tramelan in Switzerland. The business was founded in 1875. The firm made significantly historical watches and there is even a museum in Tramelan in his name. Armand died in 1939 and his son Willy took over the business.
