A good looking 18ct gold black opal ring. It is 18ct gold and has been rub over set with a large oval shaped black opal that weighs a fraction under five carats. It displays vivid red flashes of blue and green colours. Black opals, the most valuable of the opal range, contain every colour of the spectrum, from deepest and clearest blues and iridescent greens, through to golden orange, red and fuchsia. Due to their structure, they may contain any combination of an infinite number of patterns and show their greatest brilliance only during flashes of movement. This ring is a beautiful example of the blue and green variety of black opal.
