An unusual 18ct gold ring that has been set with a finely carved labradorite of a lion’s head. Labradorite is a fascinating feldspar mineral known for its stunning iridescent optical effect called labradorescence, which flashes brilliant blues, greens, golds, and other colors when light hits it at different angles, resembling the Aurora Borealis.

The labradorite was carved circa 1900 has been set in a contemporary 18ct gold mount with a shell back.
