It is a design that we have not seen before with two snakes entwined and a rub over set diamond between their heads. They are beautifully modelled and seem friendly! Snake jewellery has always been sought after as it has a lovely meaning.\u00a0 Many examples of\u00a0<span class=\"glossary-tooltip glossary-term-376518\" tabindex=\"0\"><span class=\"glossary-link\"><span class=\"glossary-underline\">Victorian<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0snake rings feature two snakes intertwined, suggesting that these pieces were intended as tokens of love and affection. This style would have been worn by both men and women. Snakes featured heavily in the myths of ancient Greece and Rome. They were reviled for their ability to shed their skin, meaning that they were seen as a symbol of regeneration and rebirth. This association with regeneration and fertility suggests links to the Victorian connotations between snakes and eternal love.
