The owl has a wonderful meaning. It is a light wise symbol as it can see in the dark. It was also considered a wise and prophetic bird since Roman and Greek times. This little chap has been beautifully made in the late Victorian period, circa 1880. He is mainly silver with gold detailing on his eyes, beak and talons with a gold wash on his back which has been intricately hand engraved. He has been set with foil back graduated rose cut diamonds with a larger one in the centre. There are two green garnets or demantoid garnets which is their correct name, in his eyes. I can virtually guarantee that you will never see another owl like this as it is a rare piece of Victorian jewellery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
