Smith and Pepper was a fine jewellery manufacturing firm in Birmingham. They opened in 1899 and closed their doors in 1981.  Their premises in Vyne Street are now a museum and are worth visiting. This snake bracelet is a good example of their work.  His head has been finely engraved and his eyes have been set with rubies.  His body is on a spring so you can coil him around your wrist.
