A lovely 18ct gold ring that was made in the 1920s and has been set with a large zircon. It is an amazing stone that has a known weight of nearly six carats. The claws are highly decorative and hold the stone securely. Zircons were used a lot during the Art Deco period and are one of the oldest stones that have been used in jewellery for over 2000 years. They occur in an array of colours from yellow, green, red, reddish brown and blue hues.
