This is a gorgeous Art Deco ring in great condition. It is made in platinum and has been set with a stunning Asscher cut diamond that weighs just over one carat. The Asscher cut diamond shape is named for the company that created it. Joseph Isaac Asscher founded the I.J. Asscher diamond company in Holland 1854, naming it after his son. That son would go on to enter the diamond business like his father, and establish one of the most famous family dynasties in the diamond world. When this cut is produced there is a lot of wastage so it is one of the most expensive diamonds around. This ring was made circa 1930 and has a beautiful pierced gallery. Around the main stone are small diamonds in a square shape with a band of diamonds crossing over from the shank to the diamond on both sides. It is stylish, rare and utterly beautiful. It would make a perfect engagement ring.
