A fantastic looking late Victorian ring that was made circa 1880. It has been claw set with three big old mine cut diamonds, the largest in the centre. They are evenly matched stones and a high colour. Above and below are what we call diamond points. These are small rose diamonds that serve to give the ring a clean line. It is called a carved half hoop because of the scroll motifs along the sides of the gallery. They also continue down the shoulders. It is a great look when worn and curves around the finger neatly. The ring is accompanied by a gemmological report stating that the diamonds are natural stones (colour approx J-L \/ clarity approx SI2-I1) with an estimated total weight of 2.25 carats.
