A pretty 9ct back and front heart shaped locket. The inside frames and hinges are metal. The back and the front are 9ct gold. This locket is engraved with a swallow above a sprig. In Chinese mythology the swallow represented happiness and the arrival of spring, and was often depicted as part of the flowering peach branch. The swallow was considered daring, risk-seeking, and a symbol of change for good in the future. In England it meant everlasting love and loyalty as swallows mate for life. So the symbolism is lovely hence the engraved swallow on this heart shaped locket. It would make a very special gift.
