Victorian Round Pique Earrings.

Victorian (1839 -1901)

A good pair of Tortoisehell pique earrings, made circa 1880. The tortoiseshell was heated and gold and silver designs pressed into it. The method has been lost so these pieces cannot be reproduced. I have seen very crude attempts but nothing to match the real thing.
