The Grand Tour spawned a huge tourist trade in items such as this. It could well have bought in Florence or Rome in the 1860's. Micro mosaic is very sought after because it is good fine workmanship. The modern crude versions that you find now in Italy are not a jot on the older versions. This pendant is in good condition and is silver gilt.
