Scottish Agate & Silver Garter Brooch

Victorian (1839 -1901)

A nice example of a scottish agate set silver brooch from around 1860. When Queen Victoria bought Balmoral there grew up a tourist trade around the locality, using locally sourced agates in various heraldic and Scottish designs.
