Pinchbeck Regency Bracelet

Georgian (1714 - 1830)

This is a great example of an English pinchbeck bracelet. Pinchbeck is the word used for an alloy of various metals, which do not tend to tarnish as ordinary brass would do. To all intents and purposes it appears to imitate gold, and is much cheaper.
