Harem rings are always sought after as they are easy to wear and look great. This one is from the Edwardian period. It has five 15ct gold bands, held at the back with a strap of gold. It is set with sapphires, pearls, rose diamonds, rubies and green 'demantoid garnets'.

Demantoid garnets were mined in Russia, and much prized for their apple green colour.
