This is a rare very understated necklace.It swirls around the neckline in such an entrancing way. The rose diamonds catch the light. Can you imagine a candlelit dining- room with the ladies dressed in crinolines, and wearing similar jewellery to this.The S clasp is a later addition. It  would most probably have been attached with a ribbon at the back.
